The esteemed State Level Recruitment Commissions of the Government of Assam have unveiled a pair of job notifications, heralding the opportunity to fill 12,600 positions across Grade III and Grade IV in various departments and establishments within the distinguished Government of Assam. The recruitment process for these openings will be guided by the recently instituted Assam Direct Recruitment Commission for Analogous Posts in Class III and Class IV Act of 2021, as well as the Assam Direct Recruitment for Class III and Class IV Analogous Posts Rules of 2022.

In pursuit of this endeavor, a solitary written examination, complemented by skill assessments or interviews, will be conducted for each category of posts, culminating in the creation of a merit list that will serve as the compass guiding the way towards appointments.







Assam Direct Recruitment Details:

Maximum Qualification:

For Class-IV positions, the highest accepted educational credential is an HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or its equivalent, signifying successful completion of the 12th-grade examination. Applicants holding qualifications exceeding this maximum criterion at the time of application are ineligible to apply for these vacancies.




Grade III (Category I)

Educational Qualification:

 The specific qualifications required for each post are detailed below.


➤ For certain positions, candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree.

➤ For others, a Bachelor's Degree alongside a minimum 6-month Computer Certificate or Diploma is mandatory.

➤In some cases, a Bachelor's Degree, a 6-month Computer Certificate or Diploma, and a Stenography Certificate from a recognized institute are prerequisites.

➤ For certain roles, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science along with a minimum 6-month Computer Certificate or Diploma from an accredited institute.





Grade III (Category II)

Educational Qualification: 

Candidates are required to have successfully completed their HSSLC (Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or its equivalent. It is noteworthy that for certain specific positions, candidates are additionally required to have completed their Class 12th in the science stream.




Grade III (Category III)

Number of Posts: 418 positions


Educational Qualification:

 Candidates are required to have successfully completed their HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) or an equivalent examination, accompanied by a valid LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) Driving License.





Additional Criteria for Assam Direct Recruitment:

 Candidates should have attained a minimum age of 18 years and should not exceed 40 years as of January 1, 2023.

Selection Process for Assam Direct Recruitment:


The comprehensive selection process for ADRE 2023 has not yet been disclosed. In accordance with the official notification, the examination scheme will be made available at least one week prior to the written test. As a result, candidates are advised to refer to the selection process from the previous year to gain a general understanding of the examination, as described below.

The Assam Direct Recruitment Commission will conduct distinct competitive examinations to identify candidates for various categories of posts. Consequently, the commission will recommend candidates based on their merit, taking into account reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and other categories, with preference given to those with higher Grade Pay.

These examinations will be conducted separately on different dates to allow individuals with higher qualifications to participate in multiple examinations.






Bachelor’s Degree Level:


The commission will conduct separate examinations based on the following eligibility qualifications for the respective posts:

Preparation of the Merit List:

The compilation of the merit list for the appointment to various categories of posts will be carried out through the following stages:

Based on the scores achieved in the written examination, a list of all candidates will be generated in order of merit.

Furthermore, the Commission will establish minimum qualifying marks for General Candidates and Candidates from different reserved categories based on the written examination scores. This criterion will be used to shortlist candidates from the aforementioned list, who will then be called for the Computer test, other test, or practical test, with the ratio to be determined by the Commission.

The Commission will also determine minimum qualifying marks for the Computer test, other test, or practical test.

Candidates who fail to attain the qualifying marks in the Computer test, other test, or practical test will not be eligible for selection.

The ultimate merit list for Class III and IV positions will be formulated based on the cumulative marks achieved in the written examination and the Computer Test, Other Test, or Interview.
